The plan

Well, the plan is to start - and end - in Belgrade (capital of Serbia). 

We will make our way to Sarajevo in Bosnia and Herzegovina, aiming for Mostar (via Konjic). 

In Mostar, we will embark on a cycle trip for 5 days along the historic Ćiro Trail. This narrow-gauge railway was built under Austro-Hungarian rule and after its demise in the 1970s, it was converted to a bike trail in 2017 and named after the popular steam locomotive Ćiro.

The cycling trip ends in Dubrovnik in Croatia and from here we will head off to Kotor in Montenegro; then to Tirana in Albania.

From here we will join an Intrepid tour for a couple of weeks to travel through Albania, Kosovo and North Macedonia back to Tirana in Albania.

Finally, we will return to Montenegro's capital (Podgorica) for the overnight train back to Belgrade in Serbia.
